Paul Carruthers has been working with the Mainframe platform since August 1988 when he worked at ICI as an mainframe Applications programmer, as part of a year in industry during his BTEC HND in Computer Studies at Manchester Polytechnic.
After achieving his HND, Paul started work at Co-Op under their Graduate Management Scheme aligned to the Mainframe IT division and obtained training as a CICS Technical Support specialist. Paul then moved to Freemans Mail Order as an experienced CICS specialist, before joining IBM initially within the outsourcing division before moving to a European technical sales role.
Paul left IBM after twenty-three years to join Virgin Money as a Senior Technology Consultant focusing on the mainframe platform
